Fixture for the Litematic VL-50S
A special fixture was developed for the Litematic VL-50S from Mitutoyo for the precise measurement of film thickness. The Mitutoyo XY table with digital micrometers, originally used in hardness testing, was modified by adding an additional adapter plate. This allows the ball to be placed in the centre under the measuring tip using the XY table and the film thickness to be measured using a flat measuring insert. In combination with an additional table, larger pieces of foil can also be carefully and evenly placed on the ball for measurement.
